HOW TO FIND IT:
M14 is in a rather empty area of the sky. Look five degrees north of Mu Ophiuchi. M14 can be found by sweeping the area between Mu and Beta.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
M14 seems more tightly packed than its neighbors, M10 and M12.
